The Mhadei water issue has not been resolved. All that we are assurances and political gimmicks without any concrete action. There seems to be no end to the fight between three states over the sharing of the river water. The issue has become more than a water-sharing dispute between Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka with the main political parties in the state trying to garner political mileage. Politicians from these three states are exploiting the row to meet their political ends, while the Centre is mute. The access to drinking water is a basic human need. Unless all the three states and the Cenre arrive at a consensus, the solution won't have constitutional validity.
