Need to protect water bodies, marine life

It is learnt that some miscreants on Monday released some deadly chemicals in the natural nullah adjoining the Raia fields. The chemical was so strong that it killed the fish and turned the water white. Locals fear that dumping of chemicals in the water bodies could spell doom for pisciculture in the khazan area of the village. The water can prove dangerous to the cattle which come to quench the thirst. This is a very serious matter as the water body touches the river Zuari and can have dangerous ramifications. The chemicals in the water can have a long-lasting effect on marine life. The police need to carry out thorough investigation and nab the culprits involved. The reason behind such a dangerous step also needs to be investigated. Obviously, huge quantity of chemicals has been dumped in the water body which has turned the water white. If the chemical has been allegedly dumped by a tanker then necessary action needs to be taken against the culprit. This will serve as a deterrence for such illegal activity. Our water bodies and the marine life in it needs to be protected at all costs. The locals need to be vigilant towards any suspicious activity and immediately report to the authorities and the police.
