Crime and corruption are two sides of the same coin, but our politicians also suffer from a lack of intelligence. Life should mean more than chasing money and luxury, yet many leaders fall into this trap and believe they are indispensable. They thrive on power and sycophancy, and by electing them we have cast our pearls before swine. Our leaders need exposure to the beauty of music, books, sport, science, and technology, instead of being consumed by the disease of greed “ “Vitamin M.” As the world enters a new scientific revolution of AI and cyborgs, future generations may look back at today’s politics with disbelief. In Goa, weak opposition has forced activists to raise people’s concerns over coal, double-tracking, and the Mhadei diversion. Sadly, those who speak out, like Rama Kankonkar, face attacks and jail. People must elect honest leaders who truly serve the common man.
