Over the years, electricity poles adjacent to Shree Ghodkeshwar Devasthan at Gholiwada-Talaulim in Ponda have been lying very close to the main road.

The situation turns dangerous for the lives of innocent travellers, especially two-wheeler  riders who are likely to hit the electricity poles during late evening and night in times of poor visibility on the road.

In case an over-speeding vehicle happens to hit any of these poles, it would certainly result in a major tragedy. Precious human lives will either get seriously injured and at may even lose their lives on the spot. The local village panchayat as also the officials at the electricity department have overlooked this serious matter till date.

Of course, there is enough space to shift the said poles a bit away from the main road. But nothing positive has come to the forefront. With the existing situation turning dangerous for the lives of innocent travellers, it is the need of the hour for the elected representatives of the local village panchayat as also the higher officials at the electricity department in Ponda to arrange shifting of the existing electricity poles.
