Preventing burglaries during festive season

In a few days time we shall be entering the festive season of Ganesh Chaturthi. Unfortunately this is also the time when there is a rise in the number of burglaries. Many people tend to go to their native places to celebrate the festival with family members. It is absolutely necessary to take necessary steps in order to prevent any burglary taking place during their absence in their dwelling places in the cities. In a gated residential community the watchman on duty needs to be in the know as to which inmates living in the flats or apartments have left for their native places during the festive season. Owners of individual houses and bungalows need to inform the local police about their absence during the festivities so that the patrolling by the police is increased around their homes. People could also request their  neighbours to keep a watch on their flats or apartments in their absence. Anyone found to be moving in a suspicious manner near residential areas need to be rounded up by the police for questioning.
