Reduce renewal fees for ancestral firearms

Goans, who possess ancestral firearms, are burdened with steep amount of renewal fees. At one point of time the renewal fees were less than Rs 100. All of a sudden, these were increased to Rs 3060 during the regime of late Manohar Parrikar. These guns were manufactured mostly in European countries. These guns cannot be used for any purpose but only have sentimental value. Hence Goans are requesting the Governor Sreedharan Pillai to revert back to the original renewal fees of Rs 100 as it has become a burden for them. Some of my friends who own these guns have suggested writing to the Governor to consider this request.

In an annual painting exhibition of Fine Arts faculty at Maharaja Sayajirao University, some students had displayed objectionable portraits of Hindu deities which sparked outrage. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have demanded the resignation of the dean in this regard.
