The road stretches of Arrarim-Saligao ward (starting from Peggy's corner and heading right up to Mater-Dei High School and the road heading downwards, or starting from Mhambre's/Menezes family house to Peggy's corner) which were fully damaged/dug up in the name of laying some underground water pipeline network six months ago have still not been restored.
Well, Saligao MLA Kedar Naik was seen leading a Tiranga bike rally just recently along with a few die-hard supporters, moving around on selective routes/well-maintained roads of Betim, Verem, Reis Magos, etc., to impress his own party bosses in Goa. Now, the question I would really like to ask is why MLA Naik did not bother to bring his Tiranga bike rally via the above-mentioned fully damaged roads of Arrarim-Saligao. Is it because the above two roads would show his supporters accompanying him during his bike rally the actual report card of his own developmental work in his Saligao constituency?
Well, the Ganesh Chaturthi festival is just around the corner, and our Hindu brothers will soon start celebrating it across Saligao/Goa, starting from September 7. I therefore personally feel that the MLA should stop testing the patience and insulting the religious sentiments of our Hindu brothers from Arrarim ward by casually forcing them to use the two fully bombarded dusty roads whilst taking their Ganeshas for immersion this time. Instead, he should put pressure on the PWD officials and get the two roads fully restored at the very earliest to finally provide major relief for all the Saligaonkars, at least before the start of the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Hope better sense prevails...
