Goans are peace-loving people by nature and Goa has always fostered communal harmony. But of late some misguided elements are hell bent on disturbing this peaceful image of our State.
In recent times there have been several issues “ attack on Chhatrapathi Shivaji, comments by priest and derogatory posts on social media. The latest controversy is that of comments against Prophet Muhammad on social media that stirred the hornet’s nest. It was good that the police managed to nab the culprit in the nick of time or the situation could have snowballed.
The particular post on social media went viral in the name "catch me if u can 09" and same was used to post the pictures.
Time and again attempts are made to disturb the communal harmony in Goa. The main purpose is to target minorities and create an atmosphere of hatred amongst the religions.
Now that the accused is arrested, the police should make this an exemplary case so that no one dares to repeat such acts against any religion.
Hope the authorities take strict legal action against the accused for the good of our State.
