Our Goa was blessed with communal harmony, but until recently things have changed with rampant illicit activities, fear of accidents, rapes, murders, uncivilised behaviour etc.
All that we had seen in yesteryears was Goans living in harmony with different religions, castes, creeds and as a family with love and peace.
Today as Goans, we have to beg, join hands and strive to create goodwill, peace, coexistence and co-operation among us.
Our reputation as a peaceful and beautiful tourist State is fast degrading despite we having the greatest hospitality mindset, not only in India, but across the world.
Today we have to hang our heads in shame just because some fanatics are trying to disturb the communal harmony.
We need to nip this dangerous trend in the bud or else Goa will lose everything it has strived for.
With the culprit who made the derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad now in police net, the authorities should take this to its logical end.
Being Gandhi Jayanti today, Mahatma’s quote comes to mind -- My religion is based on truth and non-violence. Truth is my God.
