Taxi counter at Margao charging arbitrary fares

The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant must please check  into fare arbitrarily charged at the taxi counter at Margao railway  station under the guise  of government approved  rates.  It is Rs 750 for a short distance of  6 kms to Dandeavaddo. The driver states  that meter is not operational for tonight.  The Railway AC and ordinary ricket from Mangalore which are reserved tickets cost Rs 700 and Rs 300 respectively. The taxi fares are a pain in the neck and  tourists complain about drivers fleecing them. The receipt issued should be signed by the travellers  with remarks and only then he should be paid. I was asked to pay directly to the taxi driver and receipt is for my record, then where is the security check? The booking clerk is ignorant of  desired location and charges for destination  4 kms away saying the fare up to  Panzorkon  is the same. The booking clerk is advising me rudely to look out for a private taxi. Is the booking counter  authorized  to fleece the customers without an element of security? The taxi monopoly needs to be dismantled immediately.
