Ways to spend Liberation fund

Goa will receive Rs 300 crore from the Centre for celebrating Goa's 60th year of Liberation. If I was the Chief Minister, my focus would be on the long-term development of the State. The problems plaguing Goa are bad roads, erratic electric supply, traffic woes and joblessness. The funds could be utilised to build excellent quality roads, preferably cemented, to withstand severe rains. This could be done outside the ambit of PWD and Goa Infrastructure Development Corporation because both of these are saddled in corruption. It would be prudent to go for high-end luxury buses which would tempt people using their own cars to use this transportation mode for commuting to work. This will reduce traffic on roads considerably and pollution as well. There is also a need to identify problems affecting power transmission and power failures. It's time to replace outdated equipment. Coming to IT, we will do well by inviting big IT giants like Wipro and Infosys to take this dream forward. The new initiatives can be named after 60 years of Goa's Liberation and there won't be any need to spend on memorials. The buses mentioned could be painted to mention 60 years of Goa's Liberation.
