A large number of locals reportedly took out a peaceful march on Sunday from Jambleshwar Temple to Baga to protest against the illegal dance bars, drugs and prostitution in Calangute. They later demanded the concerned authorities take proper and prompt action to permanently liberate Calangute from all such type of illegal activities at the very earliest.
Well, I feel that (forget the politicians, panch members and some top officers from the Goa Police) some irresponsible business-minded people from the same village over the years have brought this self-disaster on themselves by recklessly renting their own houses, shops, business establishments to all the notorious outsiders and allowing them to run all types of filthy illegal activities in their premises. I therefore strongly feel that the Calangutkars instead of pointing fingers at their past/present politicians, panch members, some cops from the Calangute police station etc, should own up and blame themselves for the current sad state of affairs and should immediately stop this madness of renting their premises to some notorious outsiders.
