Former five-time Congress MLA and newly sworn-in minister Aleixo Sequeira has said that Salcete is no more a Congress bastion and that BJP has already established its vote share.
He has also said that the BJP is in a comfortable position to win the South Goa Lok Sabha seat for the upcoming Parliamentary polls which are due early next year.
Now, if Sequeira had so much of information and knowledge about BJP's popularity in South Goa all this while then why had he contested on a Congress ticket and not on saffron party's ticket from Nuvem during the last Assembly polls in Goa?
Whether Salcete is no more a Congress bastion and whether the BJP is truly in a comfortable position to win the South Goa constituency seat for the upcoming parliamentary polls, time alone will tell.
Power hungry politicians like Sequeira should not take much tension but should first show his own current popularity for Nuvemkars by getting himself re-elected on a BJP ticket from Nuvem at the earliest and then start issuing his statements & underestimating the power of other political parties.
