One particularly dangerous pole is overloaded with internet cables, junction boxes, and tangled cable sheaths, all mounted haphazardly. To make matters worse, fast-growing vegetation has climbed up and become entangled in the live electricity conductors.
With the monsoon season now in full force, the risk of short circuits, electrocution, and potentially devastating fires is alarmingly high.
It is imperative that the Goa Electricity Department urgently inspects these hazardous poles and takes corrective measures before tragedy strikes.
Additionally, agencies or companies using Goa Electricity Department infrastructure without proper authorization must face strict penalties to prevent such dangerous practices in the future.
