Regarding the recent Lok Sabha elections, Goa elected two MPs. I often see the South Goa MP, Viriato Fernandes, speaking up regularly in the Lok Sabha about both Goa-specific and national issues. This is commendable, as one of the main responsibilities of MPs is to address concerns about their region.
However, I wonder, where is the North Goa MP? Why is he silent? Are there no important issues in North Goa that need attention in parliament? Despite knowing this, the people of North Goa decided to elect him for a record sixth time. In my opinion, it’s almost like not having an MP, as it doesn’t seem to benefit Goa. Are the people of North Goa truly satisfied with the results their MP is delivering? If so, I would like to understand how.
