Goa has witnessed strange things happening recently. A dead man coming alive as allegedly identified by an Agassaim panch member was a rare case that transpired yesterday. In the first place it was a case of mistaken identity by his wife, son and others when his alleged body was found near the pharmacy college on October 7. This so called dead man presumably being Milagres Gonsalves was even falsely identified by the police after verifying certain tatoo marks on the body as evidence given by the relatives. The body allegedly a bogey was handed over to the relatives for internment / burial on October 7. After a period of two months the true Gonsalves walked into his house at Mulwara Agassaim to the utter surprise of relatives. Identity checks should be fool proof and forensically verified by the GMC morgue and other experts to deter similar fiascos from happening again. Mystery surrounds the whereabouts of this missing person during the last 3 months, with some saying he was loitering in Thane, Mumbai where he was found by a NGO and lodged in a caretaker home.
