The previous Parrikar government had successfully laid pipelines in Goa for future 25 years. However pipelines are seen breaking frequently causing inconvenience to general public. Laying pipelines is not merely permanent solution. Technical maintenance is one of the aspects of water supply system. Goa is a tiny state. It should have been smart State rather than struggling for smart cities. Goa should be receiving 24 hours water supply if we considered population as compared to other states. Government must try to commission new parallel water pipelines as advance provisions. There should be mass water reservoirs at the distance of every 50 km putting less burden on main pipelines. So with that provision water would remain stable by the operation of valves. Public Work Department and Water Resources Department should come out with this proposal. Our engineers are cable of restoring water supply. Bursting pipelines should be avoided with new technology.
