I remember there was a CCTV camera installed on the top of the electric pole just at the entrance to Trinity Hospital on bylane road connecting to Campal main road. This camera stopped working within a week and the company that offered this camera to Goa Government did not have experienced engineers to maintain this camera which was supposed to be installed all over the Campal road on trial basis but was discontinued all of a sudden. These cameras were supposed to monitor the speed of vehicular traffic and other illegalities and issue challans through the traffic cell department. Now since the Tourism has grown in Goa and Panaji especially is in mess, the installation of cameras should have been pursued by the Traffic Cell to monitor the traffic movement. I think CCP Commissioner Madeira is quite energetic and will approve these cameras' installation before the monsoon on Campal road.
