Vasco police on Sunday arrested three women who were involved in stealing cash from a wine shop in Baina with the help of a child. While the three women were arrested the 7-year-old girl and a two-year-old boy were reportedly lodged at Apna Ghar. It may be recalled that a few months back a couple of women used a child to rob money from the cash counter at a pet shop in Vasco. The women made good their escape by boarding the train. It is understood that there are well organized gangs which use this method to indulge in thefts. It has been revealed that the kingpin hires kids and even kidnaps them. The children were then not only trained in committing thefts but also taught grooming skills and given expensive clothes to look like rich kids. They were also given psychological training to remain quiet when caught. The men and women create a distraction on one side while the children carry out the theft. Shopkeepers now need to keep a watch on children accompanying the adults as well.
