Our TCP minister in his infantile wisdom has declared war on Goa by accusing the Regional Plan 2021's State level committee, his own department officials and the consultant of manipulating the RP by classifying 60 million sq. mts of land as green cover and orchard area when the land was actually supposed to be earmarked as settlement zone.
This even without actually studying the plan in detail and discussing with stakeholders. The minister claims that some members of the committee misused their positions to suit their nefarious ends, he is simply following the Centre's New India template where in the accused are deemed guilty till proven innocent.
He is conveniently forgetting that no less a person than Padm Vibhushan Charles Correa, an internationally renowned master architect had helped draft the Regional Plan 2021.
The ruling dispensation is hell-bent on ravaging Goa or whatever is left of it at the behest of the builders lobby and vested political interests.
We keep on blaming 'outsiders' for destroying our beautiful State when in fact the enemy lies within. All rise, we need to save Goa from its own depredators.
