Temple of Democracy desecrated

In 2014 PM Modi famously lauded the Indian Parliament as a 'temple of democracy' but since then the BJP has left no stone unturned to desecrate this temple.

The most recent example of this attack on the temple is the manner in which the new Parliament building is being inaugurated. The saffron party has consciously chosen to exclude India's president, vice president and the former president from the function, this criminal action is simply to accommodate Modi's overarching lust for personal glory.

The PM is treating the Parliament as his personal jagir, he should understand that he is the PM of the whole country not just the BJP's and it is incumbent upon him to accommodate each and every member of Parliament.

Since Modi is so strongly inclined to leave his imprint on history, he should know it would have been far more meaningful if the president, the other constitutional luminaries and the entire Opposition were present at the inauguration.

There is a saying in Hindi "Bhains kay aagey been bajana". Modi in his hubris would never understand such niceties.
