Apropos to “America stands with India against Chinese intimidation -- The Goan Everyday 5 February 2022”. That was some assurance from a concerned friendly, super power.
The assurance from US comes at a time when China has been flexing its muscle in the region. Such an assurance from their spokesperson, Ned Price, that they stand by India against intimidation from China, is welcome.
America says they have previously also voiced their opinion against China's intimidation of its neighbours. All that is fine, but what is the outcome? Will America actually stand by India if things go out of hand? Can we depend on America for their support? Can all the bonhomie between India & the US translate into action?
We have seen how they have been arming Pakistan, knowing fully well that they have been targetting India at the border and that it seems to be the hub of terrorists.
We need to see some concrete action from the US if they are serious about their concerns towards the welfare of India and the region.
Just a thought, would the US also stand by Indians against the discrimination, harassment of minorities and the state of Democracy in India?
