Clean voters’ list is the needed

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) being carried out by the Election Commission of India is an important process to ensure that only eligible voters are included in the Electoral Roll. While this exercise is welcome, there are growing concerns about how it is being implemented. Many people are asking whether the names of foreign passport holders and migrants with dual voting cards are being removed equally from all constituencies, or only from areas represented by opposition parties. This lack of clarity has created doubt among the public. Transparency and fairness are essential to protect the credibility of our electoral system.

There are also worries that some Booth Level Officers (BLOs) may be influenced by political parties and may not give correct information. Vote bank politics should be removed from Goa in the true interest of Niz Goenkars. The names of deceased persons should not remain on the voters’ list for any kind of bogus voting. I request the Election Commission to clearly explain these issues and make sure that the revision is carried out fairly in every constituency. Only after removing fake names can we hope to elect a good government that truly listens to the voice of the voters. I also thank the Election Commission for conducting this update and survey.
