Congress president Girish Chodankar had clearly said a couple of days back that 75 to 80 per cent of the party candidates for the ensuing Assembly elections would be young and new faces.
Unfortunately, the same Girish along with Digambar Kamat is currently seen hurriedly recruiting rejected leaders from rival political parties and dreaming of forming the next government.
After recruiting the former independent MLA from Velim Benjamin Silva amidst high drama, Chodankar & Co has recruited Elvis Gomes who was in AAP.
In fact, Chodankar even said his party won't mind welcoming and recruiting many more leaders from other political parties who wish to join the Congress.
The reason why the Congress was rejected a couple of years back was because most Goans were fed up seeing the same old faces (including defectors/imports from other parties) for years.
Unfortunately, leaders like Chodankar seem to have still not learnt lessons and are currently running the party like one garbage collection truck.
Yes, the BJP can be easily defeated only if the Congress henceforth decides to unleash young faces almost everywhere and is allowed to have a one-two-one fight against all the BJP candidates.
