It is with deep joy the faithful in Goa got the news of the new Bishop-Elect to our Archdiocese of Goa and Daman with the appointment of Fr Simiao Purificacao Fernandes. A humble person with values of simplicity, caring approach, joy-filled and Biblical scholar priest will be a guiding force to assist our Cardinal Ferrao in the service of the church in Goa and Daman. On behalf of our Parish Priest Fr Brito Fernandes and all parishioners of St Peter’s Church at Bainguinim, Old Goa we congratulate our Bishop-Elect Auxiliary Bishop Simiao Fernandes and pray that God’s grace be upon him in all his future endeavors and grant him wisdom and courage to carry on after being bestowed the mantle of Auxiliary Bishop.
