Goa is witnessing a surge in attacks from leopards, monkeys, crocodiles, etc. Currently, the villagers in Canacona are facing a threat by a lone monkey at Mastimol. As mentioned in certain media outlets that approximately more than 15 people were attacked with bites or scratches on their bodies by the monkey. Unfortunately, the villagers are like silent spectators to the attacks by the beast. People who have been attacked are being treated for these injuries since March. Nevertheless, a concrete solution is the need of the hour. Moreover, the villagers are even afraid to come out of their homes. Looking back we will remember the nightmarish disaster which took place last monsoon wherein a woman was mauled to death by a crocodile on the way to her field. Moreover, a scooterist was attacked by a leopard in darkness while travelling on the road. Time and again it's a reminder to human beings that we ought not to disturb the habitats of the wild animals, otherwise the beasts will not spare our habitats too. These unusual sightings of crocodiles, leopards, etc, and their attacks have already sent warning signals to civilized society.
