Deceitful jobs promise to push certain projects

I have been observing Goan ministers for quite some time now; whenever mega commercial real estate projects are planned the ministers always dangle the "jobs/opportunities" carrot to Goans to avoid/reduce any opposition to the projects. However, if one carefully reviews all past such projects like Mopa Airport for example,  local Goans are not the major beneficiaries of jobs/opportunities; if at all, these projects mainly result in bringing in major outside/non local work force  and even areas were Goans are benefitting, like for example the taxis at Mopa, there is constant harassment/restriction and change in rules, which seriously affects their business. Also, more critically, if the term "Goan" is not properly identified and followed through as a priority for jobs recruitment/business opportunities,  at such projects, then how can the Goa Government claim that Goans will benefit from these questionable mega commercial projects? The most recent example is the disputed Unity Mall plans at Chimbel where, mainly Chief Minister and Tourism Minister are dangling the deceitful jobs/opportunities carrot to Goans; and the local MLA and Zilla Parishad member are blindly following this assurance without any question.

Root causes identified include flaws in early…
