Defection can take you only this far, Babu bab

Apropos to the report "Will Ajgaonkar again be MGP's Pernem Candidate?" (The Goan Everyday January 3, 2022). Defectors must look at the desperate pleas of incumbent deputy CM Babu Ajgaonkar bab for a ticket to contest upcoming Goa assembly elections. He is totally unsure of his future in the saffron fold. Defection is easy. But it has limitations. Once parties feel that defectors are past their sale by dates, they do not waste time on a basic courtesy like saying goodbye. It is up to the defectors to read the writing on the wall and pack bags and walk into the sunset. It is curtains for Babu Ajgaonkar bab in the winter of 2022. Instead of voicing his demand through media, Babu bab will do well to start working on a retirement plan. After all didn't he once say infamously that the show must go on?
