It is really shocking to see that often Niz Goemkars are taken for granted by authorities concerned.
The case in point is at Dona Paula where local vendors are up in arms against the newly erected iron gate and harassment by contractors.
It is alleged that the contractor has brought in outsiders to set up shop along the jetty which have infuriated the locals.
Adding to the problem is exorbitant entry fee and lack of transportation from Dona Paula circle to the Dona Paula jetty thereby affecting the business of the locals.
The authorities and the concerned minister needs to immediately step in before the situation goes out of hand.
