Don't stop employment exchange registration

Guaranteeing jobs to locals in the private sector is certainly not the responsibility of the state govt by any reckoning, as it is the prerogative of private companies to pick and choose candidates of their choice, and preference. On the other hand, though registration at employment exchange is not compulsory for obtaining a govt job,   discontinuing registration at the employment exchange by unemployed youth is by no means advisable, as it provides useful information  and job opportunities in the private sector, given that it is mandatory for private companies to inform the employment exchange of  available jobs. It is another matter if figures in the employment exchange registers are not realistic of unemployment in the state, probably due to non-updated registers. Secondly, if only 2% of Goan youth have been employed by private companies during the past 3-4 years , then it  is a sad reflection on the kind of training imparted in the state Industrial Training Institutes. Probably the newly introduced 1-year apprenticeship course will prove to be more useful in the near future.
