Tiger wins the case for reserve in High Court

India's national animal won the case in the High Court of Bombay at Goa. The case was with reference to Mhadei wild life sanctuary and its consideration for tiger reservation. The High Court under the bench of Justice Sonak and Justice Deshpande gave the verdict in favour of the tiger and the Mhadei wildlife sanctuary is to be notified within three months as a tiger reserve area. The court in its verdict asked National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) to notify the same and assist the state and forest department to complete the procedure. However the state health minister has said that the government has decided to challenge the same in Supreme Court. The Mhadei sanctuary is surrounded by villages like Surla and as such it was considered as danger zone for people living there. The said decision has given protection to tigers and the same will help to preserve the tiger population. Now one has to wait and see the Supreme Court decision which may not uphold the decision of high court and bring stay on notification.
