Don't waste taxpayer's money on political farce

The two-day winter session of the Goa assembly which began on Thursday is just a farce to fulfill  a constitutional obligation. The first day will comprise the governor 's address and on the second day the government will pass supplementary demands, also three bills are likely to be introduced. Where would the government get time to answer 236 questions including 46 starred ones relating to issues like the cash for jobs scam, Mhadei diversion, land grab,  unemployment and an exponential rise in crime ? It is pertinent to note that the last winter session too was conducted for four days only, this seems to be by some evil design by the government to shirk responsibility and accountability and avoid being cornered by a spirited opposition on various issues of public interest and citizens' welfare. Why waste taxpayer's money on such farcical sessions if nothing productive would result ? Better to shutter the Assembly building or use it for some other purpose.
