Don’t ignore safety norms

When we were shouting to stop the migrants and tourists entering the State of Goa without Covid negative certificate, our government ignored the clarion call for its ulterior motive. Now, when a Minister/MLA has tested Covid positive, it has imposed Section 144 and has also put in place SOPs again. It has also been noticed during the funeral time people continue to wish the dead person’s relatives as is seen that they hug them even when the church priests have time and again been cautioning to maintain social distancing. When the educated people are doing this it looks strange. People should take the SOPs seriously in order to curb the spread of the virus.

On many occasions we come across instances wherein private vehicles found halted/parked on the road are taken to task by the officials of Road Transport Office and the Traffic department. We seldom notice government vehicles being fined for overlooking such rules.
