Don’t waste money on stage-managed polls

The recent ward reservation controversy and the subsequent reprimanding of the SEC by the High Court makes one wonder whether elections are really worth having.

The way the ward reservations were carried it seems it was to checkmate candidates who were sure to win. It is always the case, the government in power thinks it can do anything and get away scot free.

From the Melauli agitation to the increase in prices of fuel, this government is a total failure. The recent ward reservation issue only shows that this government is hell-bent on winning the elections. 

In India, poverty and unemployment has increased due to politicians.

It would in fact be wise to use the money spent on stage-managed elections to feed the poor and the hungry in the country.

One wonders what were the parameters in adjudging Panaji for the top honours in the Quality Life Index among small cities across India.
