A visibly disgruntled Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar has subtly shown his disapproval of the current happenings within his BJP party. After having disapproved the disqualification of 8 ex-Congress MLAs and setting them free to merge with his party. His tacit disapproval of defections going on is shameful. After keeping the disqualification process in abeyance for over 2 years and finally making his pen do the talking of disapproval does not augur well in delivering justice to a beleaguered opposition. Under the 10th schedule of the Constitution it is absolutely illegal to defect to another party after obtaining mandates of the original party, which weighs down heavily in favour of the original parent party that these 8 MLAs belonged to. This proves that the Speaker erred by not abiding to the rules. He is unhappy with CM's support for Govind Gawde when the latter openly is critical over the Speaker's handling of certain crucial issues. Also he seems to be at odds with the jobs-for-cash mess which rocked the State. Such overt criticisms of the sullied affairs of BJP ministers will see him walking on a slippery wicket wherein reciprocal action is seen forthcoming.
