This is with reference to the High Court cancelling the Ponda by-poll just a day before the election. This entire Ponda by-poll saga has severe negative consequences to Goa and its democracy; in addition to the massive huge debt/cost to the tax payers. Goa assembly session was controversially curtailed by Goa CM Pramod Sawant, important gram sabhas were cancelled, so much wastage of official machinery work. My question is why the concerned ECI officials have not been severely punished and perhaps even dismissed. It will be unacceptable if the people concerned for this fiasco at Election Commission of India (ECI) are not penalised; in order to avoid such things happening in the future.
