According to a news report, an extension of 6 months has been granted to the contractor to complete the Porvorim flyover, due to some  unforeseen technical  problems. This means the  flyover is expected to be completed only by October and motorists and pedestrians will have to face even more problems due to the monsoons. As of now due to closure  of some roads at the O'Coqueiro circle, CHOGM road has become a hell hole  due to traffic diversions. Crossing the road has also become difficult without the help of traffic police, who are not present at all times. To add to the misery, the walkway has been dug up at several places, while two-wheelers also keep riding  on the  walkway  to avoid the traffic jam. Secondly, even the footpaths at O'Coqueiro junction have been dug up making it very difficult for pedestrians, who are required to walk on the road at great danger to life. It is not known why the PWD has not taken action so far to repair the damaged roads and footpaths. It  only amounts to a dereliction of duty and complete disregard for public safety.
