Educate others, follow Covid SOPs

The second wave of Covid-19 has caught the country napping with deaths and the number of cases rising by the day.

Goa, being the smallest State in the country is no exception. The death count is alarming and so also is the increase in the number of infections.

Goans are sussegad by nature, but this is not going to help. The need of the hours is to educate everyone -- family, friends, neighbours -- so that the challenge of this virus can be tackled.

SOPs that have been announced by the government must be strictly followed. Fancy masks, over the counter medication will not help. Instead, medical advice must be immediately sought and required tests must be done.

Nobody expected this virus to reach such alarming proportions. Goans have lost their brothers, their sisters and their loved ones. GMC is overflowing with patients as most were late to act.

Let us change our attitude and educate our near and dear ones on how dangerous this particular latest variant of Caronavirus is.
