Goa went to polls for 2 Lok Sabha seats on May 7 in third phase having some 1,725 polling stations. The voting pattern is somehow different in the Lok Sabha elections as compared to Assembly elections. The voters turn out in morning is slow but as the day comes closer to evening time the percentage does increase and it's predicted to be around 70 to 75 per cent voting this time. With scorching heat and rise in temperature people are reluctant to come out for voting especially senior citizens . The scorching heat may have affected voting as those who have health issues and senior citizens may have avoided coming out due to the heat which may effect their health. The Election Commission will have to rethink over the date and month of elections as we saw many voters travelling to Vailankanni by train as the tickets were booked prior to date of elections in Goa. The elections should be in November - December as the climate is suitable and voting turnout out may also be more in terms of of percentage.
