Exit polls trigger frantic parleys

The BJP is set to form the government in UP, while AAP is storming into office in Punjab; that was the unanimous conclusion of most exit polls in the country. 

There is a neck and neck race in Goa that could end in a hung assembly. Our CM has already rushed to Delhi to meet the PM and to seek his guidance on how to 'manage' (read grab power) things if there indeed is a fractured mandate. 

BJP senior functionaries have held midnight parleys with the MGP and the independents that have high chances of winning to drum up support, of course by dangling the carrot of plum cabinet posts and plain lucre. 

There could be many last minute surprises with all parties chewing their fingernails in the race to breast the electoral tape, for now the saffron party seems to be the Usain Bolt of Indian politics. 

Let's hope to have a good sarkar this time around, fingers crossed.
