The shocking sacking of the pride of Goa-origin UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman was the wrong decision by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
It happened only because pressure mounted on him to act, simply because she wrote an opinion piece on police leniency during pro-Palestinian protests in The London Times. The motive behind this decision seems to be that she had a chance to win the next election. PM Rishi himself should resign if he cannot handle the mounting pressure.
Suella holds a political and legal position in the UK and stands on the right wing of the Conservative Party, supporting Brexit and the Free School legacy of the British Empire.
Suella has condemned Hamas for the attack on Israel and fears trade with India, as it may increase migration. She is the wife of Rael Braverman, a business executive, and has two children. We Goans wish her a bright political endeavor in the future, being a source of Goan pride.
