With reference to your editorial 'How many times Goa is going to get mining assurances', it makes me say politicians are well-known for making assurances and promises at election time. Sadly, most of these are never fulfilled. They show the carrot to the people keeping in mind the elections. If one observes, it is only when elections near statements on no increase in gas, petrol and onion prices are made for which the politicians are never held accountable. Elections come and go and all that the common man has to live with is inflation.
