Follow traffic rules and ensure safety on roads

The 13th Goa state Road Safety Week started by giving roses instead of challan and the Traffic cell requesting citizens to wear a helmet and seat belt while driving and also reminded not to text messages or use the mobile phone while driving because many accidents happen when we are distracted.  The drivers should not drink alcohol while driving. The theme for the safety week 2024 is "Be a road safety hero."  We all can become a hero only when we follow the safety rules and regulations which are for our own benefits.  Children's under the age of 18 years should not ride the two wheelers without a license and the drivers should stop on zebra crossing line to give a way to citizens to cross the road. We should always drive slowly because it's better to be late than to be late forever.  The government should also protect the road users by providing pothole-free roads with proper safety sign boards where it is really needed. Roads have also to be cleared of street cattle and dogs roaming roads at night.
