The Centre’s new order of increasing the gap between the two doses of Covishield vaccine seems to have created confusion in the minds of people. The revised time interval, however, is not applicable to Covaxin.
India is currently using only these two vaccines for its inoculation programme. The gap between two doses of Covishield is increased for the third time now from 4 to 6 to 12 weeks.
Is the government putting the lives of its citizens at risk by using them as test subjects? Many are also still confused and apprehensive about the jibes due to a lack of requisite information and peer-reviewed studies of the vaccines.
Hope we don’t get another recommendation saying 'No need for the second dose as studies have found it is unnecessary'.
As the nation continues to battle the second wave of Covid-19, it is also amusing to read about BJP MP Pragya Thakur. She claims cow urine can treat lung infection. The Centre must pull up this MP for making such statements or rather if it is true, the same must be introduced as treatment in hospitals.
