Their problem is that lockdown will force migrants to go back home because the ‘employers’ will not pay them for 17days! Check MMC building and Industrial Estate units gates every morning. Has Goa Inc. started the vaccination drive at industrial estates? No, not their responsibility.
How does only stopping small weddings stop the spread? The virus today is a double mutant one that is fast spreading and affecting all ages. What is the efficacy of all SOPs together: 100%? It is not even 70% and hence cannot arrest the spread of this fast spreading mutant.
Lockdown for 17 days must be now when neighbouring states have already locked down: no use enforcing the same after these states open up. The lockdown will isolate all the infected, afford time for peoples’ immunity to build up, and allow the vaccination drive to increase numbers of vaccinated.
