Goa must end dependence on other States for basic needs

I am really surprised that Goa being the smallest state in the country has still to depend on neighbouring Karnataka on several fronts, as even the basic necessities of day-to-day living are not met. In Porvorim for example we have  several vegetable and fruit shops that receive their daily quota of supplies from neighbouring  Belagavi via trucks that bring the supplies every morning. Since the markets in Belagavi are closed on every Monday, there is acute shortage of vegetables , fruit and milk in Porvorim  every Tuesday. It is a pity that Goa can't meet the daily basic necessities of the people even after several years of attaining statehood, as agriculture has failed miserably in Goa . Yet there is much hype about the benefits of switching over to organic farming,  even after it is has been proven  that  the yield will be reduced by 50% plus. So what is the solution? And for how many more years will we continue to depend on other States for our basic daily needs.
