Years back I had written that non-Goans were making their entry into Goa and a time would soon come where there would be non-Goans as ministers in the Goa Assembly.
Today, many non-Goans are buying properties and flats in Goa. Others have ventured into illegal business.
Most of the illegal fruit vendors along the roadsides, bhel-puri walas etc are non-Goans who have brought in their families and have now become a sizeable vote bank in several constituencies.
If we take a look at Mumbai, Marathi speaking people are overtaken by non-Marathi speaking people.
Of late, the reservation quota is being raised by Marathas. The North Indians too have also raised their voice for reservation quota in Maharashtra.
A time will come and a similar situation will develop in Goa where non-Goans will demand jobs and reservation in other sectors. Goans must be on guard to save their land for posterity.
