In view of the recent reports indicating spurt in cases of Lumpy Skin Disease in cattle in the State it would be prudent for the government to identify the sources of milk procured from other States as well as in Goa as there are many people consuming milk and other dairy products on a daily basis.
The FDA and other concerned authorities should be alert and act accordingly as this infection in cattle may transmit to humans and cause health concerns.
Also the government of Goa should give a daily advisory to both dairy farmers and consumers about the situation through available sources of
media, so that people take necessary precautionary measures.
