Govt must move swiftly on Ribandar health centre

With the two panchayats on the Divar Island, followed by Chimbel and Old Goa having all sent in their unanimous resolutions urging the government to set up a full-fledged health centre at the Old Ribandar hospital, the Merces panchayat has also collectively resolved and urged the government through an official resolution on the need for a full-fledged health centre at Ribandar. Let us repose our faith and trust that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and local MLA Babush Monserrate will move swiftly to ensure that this long-awaited facility becomes a reality.   And in the words of our MLA Babush Monserrate ‘By hook or crook, it will be ensured that full medical facilities are restored at the Old Ribandar Hospital’.

Flawed decisions & U-turns of govt not good for State

On November 7, people woke up to the welcome news that the State government has withdrawn the permission given to Sunburn festival which had been approved just a day or two before. The decision is one among the many U-turns the government has taken, the most recent being the accommodation facility given to the doctors posted at the Covid hospitals in South Goa which was withdrawn and reversed within 24 hours.
