Chief Minister Pramod Sawant while speaking to the media on Tuesday after a committee meeting with Cabinet ministers, MLAs, and officials has said that strict action will be taken against all illegal structures across the state in compliance with a High Court order issued on March 6, 2025. Sawant has said that his government is now also considering issuing an ordinance or introducing a Bill to regularise irregular structures in the state, but emphasised that no illegal structures will be allowed moving forward. Well, it looks like the government of the day is desperately trying to save not the houses of Goans (as being currently projected/claimed through the local media) but the illegal structures/houses of all the neighbouring migrants/outsiders by issuing such an ordinance and which have come up (still coming up) illegally on comunidade land/low lying paddy fields and in other parts of the state to somehow safeguard its own vote bank in Goa.
